Effective Altruism Delft is a community for Delft University of Technology

students who want to do the most good they can, using evidence

and careful reasoning.

 

Effective altruism is about using evidence and reason to figure out how to benefit others as much as possible, and then taking action on that basis.

Effective Altruism takes the well-being of others as a guiding principle, along with a scientific mindset to use the best available evidence to guide our actions. These principles are used by the global Effective Altruism community with over 200 (student) organisations around the world.

Investigate ideas

There are many big problems facing our generation. How can we determine which ones to work on?

Together we learn about the principles of Effective Altruism and how we can apply them. We run free, multi-week programs where you can learn more about how to determine which problems are important and how to make sure what you’re doing is effective.


We are curious about what knowledge you bring, and what we can learn from you!

Community

Joining a community is a great way to increase your impact. After all, groups can collaborate to achieve more than individuals. It is also a lot more fun to try to do good with like-minded people, and the best way to learn more is by talking to others. In addition, you will easily make connections in the global EA network. There are many experts in diverse fields that we can connect you to.

We are committed to creating an open & diverse community and welcome feedback of any kind.

Taking action

When we have figured out what causes we care about and want to make a difference, we try to identify the best way to make this happen. We can provide help with doing an effective thesis as well as work on your idea or project. We can also help you get funding.

Your biggest opportunity to make an impact will likely be the 80,000 hours you spend in your career, and it is worth deeply investigating what to pursue. Learn more on 80000hours.org.

Effective Altruism Delft is a student organisation in Delft for students who want to influence the world in the most positive way by working on the world’s most pressing problems. We run programs to talk, discuss and learn about the knowledge you require to do immense good in your career & lifestyle.
